Learn how to create and upload PDF lead magnets to Vavolta.
Overview
A lead magnet in Vavolta is a PDF file you want to share and track. Your PDF is hosted by Vavolta and displayed in a beautiful, branded viewer with detailed engagement analytics.
Creating a PDF Lead Magnet
Step-by-Step Guide
- Click New Lead Magnet in the sidebar
- Upload your PDF:
- Drag and drop the file onto the upload area, or
- Click to browse and select a file
- Fill in the details:
- Name: A descriptive title (e.g., "2024 Marketing Trends Report")
- Description: Optional context about the content
- Choose the Distribution Type:
- Direct Access: For sharing with specific recipients
- Public Form: For lead generation landing pages
- Click Create Lead Magnet

Optimize your PDF before uploading. Compressed PDFs load faster and provide a better experience for recipients.
After Upload
Once created, you'll be taken to the lead magnet detail page where you can:
- Preview your PDF
- Create access links or landing pages
- View analytics
- Edit settings
Lead Magnet Settings
Name and Description
- Name: Shown in your dashboard and in analytics. Make it descriptive.
- Description: Internal notes. Not shown to recipients.
Distribution Type
Choose the primary way you'll share this lead magnet:
- Direct Access: Creates unique links for specific recipients
- Public Form: Creates landing pages with email capture
You can always use both types, but this setting affects the default interface.
Active/Inactive Status
Toggle a lead magnet's status to control access:
- Active: Links work normally
- Inactive: All links return a "not available" message
Use this to temporarily disable access without deleting links.
Organization Tips
Naming Conventions
Use consistent naming to stay organized:
[Type] [Topic] - [Version/Date]
Examples:

- Case Study: Acme Corp - 3x ROI
- Template: Marketing Plan - v2
Using Descriptions
Add internal notes in the description:
- Campaign or use case
- Target audience
- Related materials
- Expiration or review dates
