Cookie Policy
Last updated: November 26, 2024
This Cookie Policy explains how vavolta (operated by Brixon Group Ltd) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website and use our services.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and provide information to website owners.
Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining on your device until deleted) or "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser).
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Authentication: To identify you when you log in and maintain your session
- Security: To protect your account and prevent fraud
- Functionality: To remember your preferences and settings
- Email verification: To remember when you have verified your email for accessing gated content
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. You cannot opt out of these cookies as they are essential for the Service to work.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Authentication session token (Supabase) | Session / 1 week | Essential |
sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | OAuth security verification | Session | Essential |
lm_verified_* | Email verification status for gated content access | 1 hour | Essential |
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization. While not strictly essential, they improve your experience.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
theme | Remembers your preferred color theme (light/dark) | 1 year | Functional |
Note: The theme preference cookie is used solely to remember your display preference and does not track your activity. Under the ePrivacy Directive, this cookie falls under the category of cookies that are used at the request of the user to provide a service explicitly requested. You can disable this cookie through your browser settings; your theme preference will simply reset to the system default on each visit.
3.3 Third-Party Cookies
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
However, if you choose to configure Google Tag Manager integration in your vavolta settings, the GTM container you specify may set additional cookies according to your configuration.
Important: If you configure Google Tag Manager or other third-party scripts through vavolta, YOU are solely responsible for:
- Compliance with cookie consent requirements (GDPR, ePrivacy)
- Updating your own privacy policy to disclose such tracking
- Obtaining necessary consents from your recipients
vavolta provides the technical capability but is not liable for your use of third-party tracking tools.
4. Cookies on Our PDF Viewer
When recipients view your shared content through vavolta, we may set the following cookies:
lm_verified_*: Remembers that a recipient has verified their email address for a specific access link. This prevents them from needing to re-verify within 1 hour.
If you (as a vavolta customer) have configured Google Tag Manager for your lead magnets, your GTM container may set additional cookies on the viewer pages.
5. Managing Cookies
5.1 Browser Settings
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser
Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using vavolta's authenticated features.
5.2 Browser-Specific Instructions
To manage cookies in your browser, visit:
6. Similar Technologies
6.1 Local Storage
We use browser local storage to store certain preferences and session data. Local storage works similarly to cookies but can store more data and is not sent to the server with every request.
6.2 Session Storage
Session storage is used for temporary data that should only persist during your browser session.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. We do not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no industry standard for DNT. However, we do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will indicate the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
