Viewing Submissions

See and manage leads captured through your Generic Link landing pages.

Overview

When visitors submit the form on your Generic Link landing page, their information is captured as a submission. This guide shows you how to view and manage these leads.

Viewing Submissions

From the Lead Magnet

  1. Open the lead magnet with Generic Links
  2. Click on a Generic Link
  3. See the Submissions list

Submission Details

Each submission shows:

FieldDescription
EmailThe submitted email address
NameIf name collection was enabled
DateWhen they submitted
ViewedWhether they viewed the content
SourceWhich Generic Link (if multiple)

Submission List Features

Sorting

Sort submissions by:

  • Date (newest/oldest)
  • Email (alphabetical)
  • View status

Filtering

Filter to find specific submissions:

  • Date range
  • Viewed/not viewed
  • Search by email or name

Exporting

Export your submissions:

  1. Click Export
  2. Choose format (CSV)
  3. Download the file

CSV includes all submission data for import into other tools.

Tracking Engagement

After submitting, visitors can view the content. Track their engagement:

View Status

  • Viewed: They opened the content after submitting
  • Not viewed: Submitted but didn't view yet

Engagement Data

For viewers, see:

  • Time spent viewing
  • Pages viewed (for PDFs)
  • Number of sessions

This appears in your main Analytics as well.

  1. Export submissions
  2. Import to your email tool
  3. Send follow-up sequence

CRM Integration

On Team plan, sync submissions to Attio:

  1. Connect Attio integration
  2. Enable "Sync submissions"
  3. Submissions create/update contacts automatically

Webhook Notifications

On Team plan, get real-time notifications:

  1. Set up a webhook
  2. Select "form.submitted" event
  3. Receive POST requests when forms are submitted

Submission Quality

Valid vs Invalid

Vavolta validates email format:

  • Basic format checking
  • Common typo detection
  • Disposable email detection (coming soon)

Duplicate Handling

If someone submits the same email twice:

  • They get access again
  • You see both submissions
  • Analytics track them as the same person

Privacy & Data

What's Stored

  • Email address
  • Name (if collected)
  • Submission timestamp
  • IP address (hashed, for analytics)
  • User agent (browser info)

Data Retention

Submissions are stored as long as:

  • The Generic Link exists
  • The lead magnet exists
  • Your account is active

Deletion

To delete submission data:

  • Delete individual submissions (if available)
  • Delete the Generic Link (deletes all its submissions)
  • Delete the lead magnet (deletes everything)

Best Practices

Regular Review

  • Check submissions weekly
  • Follow up with engaged leads
  • Clean out test submissions

Quick Follow-up

Leads go cold fast:

  • Set up webhook for instant notification
  • Or check daily
  • Respond within 24-48 hours

Segment by Source

Use multiple Generic Links to segment:

  • /g/guide-linkedin → LinkedIn leads
  • /g/guide-website → Website leads
  • Different follow-up for each

Troubleshooting

No Submissions Showing

  • Verify the Generic Link is active
  • Test by submitting yourself
  • Check you're viewing the correct link

Missing Information

  • Name only shows if "Collect name" was enabled
  • Can't add fields retroactively

Duplicate Leads

  • Same person submitting multiple times is normal
  • They may have forgotten they already submitted
  • Or accessing from different devices
